May Giveaway Day 2009!

I started with one fat quarter bundle in mind, and then I worked my way to two…well, the final answer is three! I love how they look together! So here goes: I have three fat quarter bundles to give away so I thought I’ll come up with three ways for you to enter -
1. Share with me one of your all-time favorite Etsy stores. I love shopping!
2. Put up a link to one of your favorite sewing tutorials ever – my summer holidays are coming up, I’ll need loads of those to try my hands on.
3. Tell me what is the one thing you cannot resist printed on fabric. I’ll go first – I can never get enough of polka dots. In every color!
Each one of you has three chances in all to win these fabric bundles if you answer all of my tiny requests – and I will close comments and pull out the random number generator on May 31 (GMT+8).
Everything you see here is lightweight cotton, full of Japanese zakka goodness! And oh, this giveaway is definitely international.
There you go, easy-peasy! Remember to leave an email address I can contact you by and your order of preference of the bundle you’d like to receive (Red, Lavender, Teal). Good luck, I hope for some giveaway luck myself too!

I cannot resist little prints of animals/people often found in japanese prints…they’re so cute. You can make so many things with those types of fabrics and never get tired of looking at them.

She has the most beautiful line drawings with absolutely amazing colors. I’ve purchased her prints before and I can honestly say the images don’t do the real thing justice. They’re even more vibrant in person!

First, my choice would be lavendar.
1 – I buy my fabric from either Pink Chalk Studio or Fat Quarter Shop.
2 – tutorials, there are many over at Oh Franssons! and Crazy Mum Quilt. They have great tutorials.
3 – I am not particular what is the pattern but I prefer no florals (for unknown reasons).

There are some really great designs there.

#1 I’m not very good at keeping track of Etsy sellers, but ViaDelia’s buttons rock my world–I actually bought some during election season to make earrings out of. Though most of what I do end up buying is yarn/fiber-related–and cosmicfibersyarn’s Buffy colorways rock my socks. Umm, literally, I’ve been swatching with my Angel yarn.
#2 I’m in the process of learning to sew (translation: @$^$#$ flea-market sewing machine!), but this Tudor Rose bag is, like, my holy grail tutorial.

Awesome giveaway! I can’t resist fabrics with lady bugs.
I am 8. I am learning how to sew. I have been doing some embroidery stitches. My 6 year old brother is learning some too. I hope to be on the machine before the end of summer. Oh my gosh – these are all gorgeous! How can you bear to part with it!
1) OK, my favourite Etsy store is http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6249437 (I chose a non-fabric store, since you probably already know fabricworm!). She is so talented, I just LOVE her prints!
2) http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170402.0 is a fantastic tutorial to make a girls dress from an old men’s button shirt. I can’t WAIT to raid my husbands shirts this weekend!
3) I’m a sucker for smallish, random prints featuring one colour on white/cream, or white/cream prints on a bold/dark colour – eg the strawberry print up there. I have a heap of them…something about the contrast gets me every time!
So obviously, the red would be my favourite, then teal, then lavendar. Thanks!!!

2) I find a lot of tutorials on craftgossip.com — This summer I want to use one of the ones on turning a man’s dress shirt into a little girl’s sun dress. But, there’s several to choose from & I can’t decide!
