During my heyday.

I’ve seen you sometimes, on your own and in crowds.

Learning to sew can be complicated in the mind. You read blogs written by mothers who sew as a sideline and they write tutorials that make these things look easy-peesy. You skip the cute skirts, adorable aprons and children’s apparels, knowing they are unachievable without years of practice or a sewing machine. You look through the Gifts category very carefully, plan sewing steps inside your head and think to yourself, “Surely I could do that.” Mostly, you’re wrong.

But it really doesn’t matter because you’re not trying to make a living out of this business. Why take the fun out of making little crafts when you are allowed to be different and creative without knowing any sewing jargon? As long as you can put a thread through and needle (or in my case, use self-threading ones!) and cut out fabric, the people you love are going to think your gifts precious simply because you made it from scratch and your heart.
